The Friendship APL is a private, independent, non-profit humane society founded in Elyria, Ohio in 1957. They receive no government funding and depend on the generosity and financial support of friends and neighbors, and on various fundraisers, to serve the people and animals of Lorain County.
The Friendship APL does not euthanize pets based on time limits or to make space for other pets. They schedule incoming pets to make certain that they have room to house and care for the pets. They screen and continually monitor pets for health and behavior problems. All pets receive one or more vaccinations, deworming, lab tests as required and a veterinary examination. They also spay or neuter all pets prior to adotion. They have a wonderful staff that will help you select the proper pet for your family and lifestyle.
